Tote bags, hoodies and sweatshirts with no minimum

The no-minimum rule is not only about t-shirts. Here is what else you can order one of, and the two things you cannot.

People find us looking for single shirts and then assume a hoodie must work differently, because at most shops it does. It does not here. The reason is the same reason as for shirts — direct-to-garment printing has no setup to spread across a run, so there is nothing a minimum would protect.

What you can order one of

Hoodies, sweatshirts, tote bags, long sleeve tees, tank tops, youth and toddler garments: each category has blanks with no minimum. One piece, at the listed price, with no surcharge for the quantity being one.

Prices start at:

  • Tote bag at $12.50
  • Gildan midweight crewneck sweatshirt at $21.00
  • Gildan midweight hoodie at $21.00
  • Hanes Ultimate Cotton heavyweight crewneck at $25.00
  • Hanes Ultimate Cotton heavyweight hoodie at $29.00
  • Bella+Canvas long sleeve tee at $16.80
  • Next Level unisex tank at $15.00
  • Youth tee at $14.50

The exceptions

Some blanks do have one. Heavier and specialty hoodies and sweatshirts start at 6 or 12 pieces, and the 11L, 12L and 20L tote bags at 12 or 24. The catalogue shows the minimum on each item. Mugs, from $9.90 for an 11oz, have no minimum.

The classic embroidered cap and the embroidered trucker hat have no minimum either, and both can be embroidered the same business day if you order before 1 PM. Same-day hat embroidery has the details.

How each one prints

Hoodies and sweatshirts take DTG well. Heavier fabric means more cotton for the ink to settle into, so prints look solid and saturated. Two things to plan for: a front pocket or a kangaroo pouch limits where a design can sit, and a hood changes the visual centre of the garment, so a print positioned by measurement can look high on the body. We allow for that, but mention it if you want something specific.

The Hanes Ultimate Cotton blanks at $25 and $29 are noticeably heavier than the Gildan midweights at $21. Worth the difference if the garment is being sold or worn daily; not worth it for a one-off.

Tote bags print cleanly and are the easiest thing we make — flat, cotton, no seams in the print area. The usable area is smaller than a shirt's, so a design built for a chest print usually needs scaling down. A bag is also the cheapest way to test how your artwork actually looks printed before committing to fifty shirts, which is a use we would recommend more often than people take it up.

Long sleeves print on the body only. We do not print sleeves, which catches people out on exactly this garment.

Volume still helps

Twenty pieces takes 10% off, fifty takes 17%, a hundred takes 25%, and the count is across the whole order. Fifteen hoodies and ten totes is twenty-five pieces and earns the 10%.

Same day

Of these, we hold hoodies (Hanes F170), sweatshirts (Gildan midweight crewneck), tote bags and the youth and toddler tees in stock for rush work. Order before 1 PM on a business day and they are printed today, collectable from Long Island City or Compton the same day.

The rest of the catalogue takes longer, from next day to several business days. Each product page shows its own speed.
