Same-day hat embroidery: what we can stitch today

Order a classic or trucker cap before 1 PM on a business day and it can be embroidered the same day. Here is what that covers and what takes longer.

Shirts are not the only thing we turn around in a day. Our classic cap and our trucker hat can be embroidered the same business day: order before 1 PM, pick Same Day at checkout, and the caps can be stitched that day. The catalogue marks both of them Same Day Available, the same way it marks the stocked shirts.

Neither has a minimum. One cap is a real order.

Every other style in the hat catalogue shows its own speed on the card, and dad hats, rope caps, beanies and the rest take from two business days upwards, with many of them starting at 6 pieces.

What happens between your order and the needle

An embroidery machine does not read your logo. It reads a stitch file: every needle movement, the direction each stitch runs, how densely they pack, where the colour changes happen and in what order. Turning artwork into that file is called digitising. Then the machine is threaded for your colours.

On a same-day order all of that has to happen on the day. That is why the file you send matters more for a cap than for a shirt.

Artwork that makes the date

Send a vector file if you have one, or a large PNG with a transparent background. Keep lettering at least a quarter of an inch tall, because a stitch has a minimum size and text below that turns into a thread-coloured smudge. Fewer thread colours means fewer changes on the machine.

Hairline rules, tiny trademark symbols and delicate serifs are worth simplifying before you order, because they are the first details to fill in or break up in thread, and our design team prepares artwork at no extra cost if you would rather we did it.

What takes longer

Orders placed after 1 PM normally move to the next business day. A small job often still fits, so call the shop before ordering if the date matters. Cap styles that are not marked same day, large quantities and logos with many colours are worth a call first too.

Same day does not include delivery time. Pickup is free, and a courier across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut runs $44.

Repeat orders

If we have stitched your logo before, the stitch file already exists, so a reorder is the easiest same-day job there is.
